RNT Strengthens Team to Support Commercial Expansion of Patented NanoFoil®

Company Signs on Veterans with Expertise Delivering New Products to Market

Hunt Valley, MD – January 10, 2006
RNT, which develops and manufactures its patented NanoFoil® to precisely control the instantaneous release of heat energy for reaction initiation and joining applications, announces the hiring of several new key executives to dramatically strengthen its team as the company’s commercial expansion shifts into high gear. Representing a significant development in RNT’s drive towards mass commercialization, this is part of a wider campaign during fiscal year 2005 which also included construction of manufacturing facilities and continued development of distribution channels.

Chief Executive Officer Joseph A. Grzyb has solidified his team to include: Vice President Business Development and Marketing John J. Hannafin; Vice President Sales Bill Gallagher; and Vice President Finance Samuel M. Krupsaw. Combined these new executives offer RNT 65 years experience in building and managing growth businesses.

“We’ve been in the fortunate position where customers seeking to advance beyond the capabilities of existing technologies realize the tremendous leap forward presented by RNT’s technology,” noted Grzyb. “In order to continue bringing this technology from the lab to a mass market quickly and efficiently, we have enhanced our team with proven veterans who know how to ensure success.”

Mr. Grzyb has over 22 years experience in leading, managing and growing leading-edge semiconductor organizations. Prior to joining RNT he spent eight years with RF Micro Devices, the world’s leading provider of power amplifiers to the cellular industry, most recently as General Manager of its largest division. He has built a diversified team with each new member offering specialized expertise key to the company’s commercial success:

    • John J. Hannafin, Vice President Business Development and Marketing brings nearly 20 years of direct experience in high-tech materials. Mr. Hannafin previously spent eight years with high-performance materials manufacturer Chomerics, a division of Parker Hannifin. Taking on roles of increasing responsibility in global marketing and business development, he received a Parker Hannifin 2004 Innovative Product of Year award for his work developing next generation semiconductor process consumables.
    • Bill Gallagher, Vice President Sales offers 20 years of expertise in sales, training and management. In his previous position with Stellent, Inc., as Vice President of Strategic Alliances, he created and managed large software deals for high profile companies such as IBM, Sybase and Merrill Lynch. As director for major accounts with Interleaf, Inc., he led the company’s southern sales region from last to first place in one year.
    • Samuel M. Krupsaw, Vice President Finance brings 25 years experience in finance, management and operations. Showcasing his ability to spearhead company growth, in just three years as Chief Financial Officer for Under Armour Performance Apparel his team increased annual revenues from $5 million to $115 million, employees from 32 locally to 275 nationally, and assets from $2 million to $60 million.

“We are ecstatic about the remarkable progress made by RNT in bringing this highly-anticipated technology to reality,” added Timothy P. Weihs, Ph.D., RNT Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer. “The key puzzle pieces are falling in place to allow NanoFoil to take off and revolutionize a number of key industries.”

About RNT

Headquartered in Hunt Valley, Maryland, RNT was founded in 2001 by engineering veterans Timothy P. Weihs, Ph.D., who now serves as Chief Technical Officer, and Omar M. Knio, Ph.D., who is RNT’s Senior Vice President. The company develops and manufactures NanoFoil® to precisely control the instantaneous release of heat energy for reaction initiation and joining applications that current technology can not effectively or economically address. RNT has also developed its patented NanoBond® joining process to ensure the benefits of NanoFoil are maximized.

Commercial distribution of NanoFoil for energetics and joining applications is taking place from RNT’s onsite manufacturing machinery. The company is utilizing its financial backing from a variety of sources – including over $4.5 million in grants from the National Science Foundation – to develop additional manufacturing sites and craft its patented technology for additional applications. RNT has also signed licensing agreements with a number of Fortune 500 Companies. Its breakthrough technology has earned a number of prestigious awards including the 2005 “R&D 100” from R&D Magazine, the 2005 Nano 50™ from NASA Nanotech Briefs Magazine and recognition in The National Nanotechnology Initiative Strategic Plan in December 2004.
